WASHINGTON, DC (April 6, 2026) — Puppies and Pilates, a premium, instructor-led fitness concept that pairs a full Pilates workout with the uplifting presence of puppies, will officially launch on April 11, 2026 across select locations in Washington, DC, Arlington, VA, West Springfield, VA, and Annapolis, MD.
Founded by Bethany Kazaba, Entrepreneur and Founder of Neighborhood Retail Group (NRG), Puppies and Pilates was born from a vision to create a scalable, feelgood fitness concept that blends physical wellness, community, and a deep love for animals. With a degree in Health and Physical Education from the University of Delaware and more than 13 years leading NRG, a successful commercial real estate firm which assists others to successfully launch their businesses, Kazaba is adding a new business to her own portfolio while continuing to support NRG clients.
“I’ve spent my career helping Landlords and Tenants bring businesses to life,” says Kazaba. “Puppies and Pilates is the culmination of things that mean a lot to me— physical and mental health, community, and animals. I want to share this newest endeavor with my NRG clients and local communities, led by a team of strong, driven women who will scale Puppies and Pilates into something truly impactful.”
Unlike novelty-based animal fitness classes, Puppies and Pilates delivers a true 45minute Pilates workout, with programming curated by Director of Operations Alex Perrin—Owner, Founder and CEO of Cut Seven, former Director of Coach Development at [solidcore], and a classically trained ballerina of 18 years—in collaboration with leading instructors across the DMV, bringing a structured, resultsdriven approach to every session. The experience is designed to stand on its own as a premium fitness offering—enhanced, not defined, by the presence of puppies.
“Participants are getting a real workout first and foremost,” says Perrin. “The puppies add an element of joy and connection, but the foundation is an athletic, modern approach to Pilates that people will come back for again and again.”
Each class features puppies in a carefully managed environment designed to support early socialization as they prepare for their future homes. Classes are currently held on Saturdays and Sundays, with three sessions per day with a maximum of 30 participants per class to ensure the health, happiness, and wellness of the puppies. During the wellness time with puppies and to enhance the overall experience, different mocktails will be served each weekend from the Puppies and Pilates pink bar carts.
